At Gifts For Icons, we listened to your stories about how devalued, demotivated and unsafe you felt in your workwear and your environment, and set out to create a new range of scrubs and accessories to address your biggest concerns. That’s why we’re proud to say our scrubs have been designed by professionals, for professionals.

“Scrubs designed by professionals, for professionals”

The idea for the business came about during the COVID19 pandemic when our CEO, Tessa Wilson, started sewing PPE to support family members who were doctors, teachers, social workers and health professionals.

Having an extensive background as a business consultant across Health and Social Care, Tessa developed the ideas for the business based on the stories of undervalued, overwhelmed and terrified staff working with unsafe staffing levels in unsafe conditions, predominantly in public sector services. Tessa formed an online army of volunteers to make scrubs, facemasks, scrub bags and headbands for any keyworker that needed them. Over the course of the year, she donated over ten thousand items of PPE to every keyworker profession imaginable.

COVID19 pandemic left the nation with an unprecedented outbreak of influenza and H1N1 disease. At COVID19, we took hold of the opportunity and promoted our products that battled against flu viruses. We instilled confidence in parents who worried about their children facing infection with a convenient way to protect them better.

COVID19 pandemic caused a significant rise in the online searches for vaccines right before and during this period. To make it easier to understand what each vaccine entails, we created an interactive chart on our website so prospective parents could find answers instantly. When this idea became tangible, co-founded Abhimanyu Bande decided to invest himself full time into his passion and made Covid19 his reality.

From this, the current business was born, founded on the principals of supporting, championing, advocating and giving back to keyworkers, with 10% of net profits donated to their charities. In addition, Tessa was committed to the businesses global responsibilities in helping to create a kinder and fairer world for all humans on our planet. Through the establishment of our not-for-profit Fit For Icons Foundation, we will promote and support the delivery of voluntary keyworker services in third world countries too.
